“Best you can do”
I was in Island for 3 days with my sons and wrote with Helga in advance. She organized everything perfectly and our Guide Juan has had experience from all around the world. Absolutely recommendable!!! We would book our tours again via Helga and Travelling Iceland! Very, very good!!! We say thank you so much!!! 😉
“Best day of my life”
I wish I could aptly express how sweet, funny and highly intelligent Helga is. She started as our personal tour guide and ended as our friend. She seemed to enjoy a 14-hour day (Golden Circle and south coast) and many, many questions from us. She’s literally a fount of information, as a geologist and professor. We joked. We played. We learned. She went above and beyond. She even took us to the airport. If you want to travel Iceland, I promise you won’t regret booking with her independent company.
“Warm welcoming to Iceland”
Tailor-made for our family visit. A very fun and exciting trip to the Golden Circle. Very informative, professional, and yet full of adrenaline.
“Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!”
Wow. wow. wow! What an absolutely amazing tour. Helga was an incredible guide who was full of information about the history of Iceland and the land today. I and my fiance did the golden circle tour, which consisted of many amazing views, ice cream from a family run farm, and lunch at a delicious greenhouse. The landscape in Iceland is one in a million, and this small tour company helps you soak in every bit of it! HIGHLY recommend!
Bus stops for pick-up
The city offers special pick-up and drop-off places for your tour hotel pick-up. The stops are located in and around the city centre and are easily accessible. You should find one in close proximity to your accommodation in the city centre. On this map, you will find your nearest location for your tour pick up / drop off, pictures of what the stops look like and a map how to get there.

About Travelling Iceland
Travelling Iceland was founded by Helga Bára, a PhD in Marine Geology and Climate Change. Iceland nature is magical, fragile and untouched. When you book a trip with us or travel with us, we donate to nature conservation and protection. We are a small team of travel enthusiasts and our focus is to give travellers a unique experience with a local. We are very excited to switch to electric cars, hopefully soon. Electricity in Iceland comes from hydropower and geothermal energy and is considered renewable and green energy.
Travel in Iceland with us. We help you make your Iceland adventure unforgettable!

I pledge to be a responsible tourist
When I explore new places, I will leave them as I found them
I will take photos to dies for, without dying for them
I will follow the road into the unknown, but never venture off the road
And I will only park where I am supposed to
When I sleep out under the stars, I'll stay within a campsite
And when nature calls, I won't answer the call on nature
I will be prepared for all weathers, all possibilities and all adventures
The Icelandic Pledge
Inspired by Iceland now offers tourists to take a pledge to travel responsibly when visiting the country. ‘The Icelandic Pledge’ is an online agreement where tourists can sign, and promise to respect nature while travelling in Iceland.
Future of Tourism
Travelling Iceland has signed the Guiding Principles launched by the newly formed Future of Tourism Coalition – the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST), Destination Stewardship Center, Green Destinations, Sustainable Travel International, Tourism Cares, and the Travel Foundation, with the guidance of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). These principles outline a bold vision for tourism’s path forward and as a signatory, we commit to place destination needs at the center of tourism’s new future and do our part to create a better tomorrow.
