Hike to one of Iceland’s highest waterfalls – Tour program
Pick up at your accommodation between 8.30 and 9.00 AM, or meet us at bus stop number 8, next to Hallgrímskirkja church at 9.00 AM. We will start our journey by driving to the Hvalfjörður fjord where Glymur waterfall is situated.
We hike a few minutes from the car park until we arrive towards the river. We need to cross the river. The river has a tree trunk over it, and we cross it. The hike from there to the viewpoint is sometimes steep. The view from the top is amazing and rewarding. Glymur, the waterfall, falls 198 meters and used to be the highest waterfall in Iceland. Due to warming, a new and higher waterfall has appeared. Remember good shoes, snack, water bottle to fill and your camera!
A challenging hike with some high cliffs.
We arrive in Reykjavík about 3 PM.
