Hike Through A Colourful Geothermal Area and Take a Warm Bath in a River

Drive from Reykjavík to Hveragerði, where Reykjadalur (Steam Valley) is situated. The valley is situated in a geothermally active area, and hot water mixes with the river running through the valley, making the river perfect temperature for bathing. Remember good shoes, swimsuit and towel, snack, water bottle to fill in the river and your camera!
A moderate hike, with a good rest at the top, until we hike downhill.

Tour Program

9:00 AM – REYKJAVÍK
Pick up between 8:30 – 9:00 AM, at your accommodation, or meet us at bus stop number 8, next to Hallgrímskirkja church. Wait for the Travelling Iceland vehicle.  We will start our journey by driving from Reykjavík to Hveragerði, where the Reykjadalur (Steam Valley) is situated.

REYKJADALUR HIKE
We hike up the Reykjadalur (Steam Valley). The hike takes about 1 hour until we reach Reykjadalsá a river, suitable for bathing. The valley is situated in a geothermally active area, so the where hot water mixes with the river, making it perfect temperature for bathing. We will enjoy the hot spring before hiking back down the valley. 

3:00 PM – REYKJAVÍK
We arrive in Reykjavík.
